What to Expect

A Casual “Come As You Are” Atmosphere
God doesn’t require suits and ties so why should we? At Soul Discovery we believe church isn’t about how you look.–it’s about coming to God as you are and discovering God’s answer for your everyday life.

Will I Feel Out of Place?
As a guest of Soul Discovery Church, you won’t be called upon or singled out and made to feel uncomfortable. Your level of participation is solely up to you!

What Will I Need to Bring?
Well, we may better answer that question by telling you what you won’t need. As a visiting guest, we don’t want you to feel as though you have to give money. Feel free to sit back and relax without feeling the need to give to Soul Discovery. Leave your money at home. If you don’t have a Bible don’t worry, an easy-to-read Bible will be on the tables on the way in to the auditorium. You are welcome to take one of these Bibles home if you don’t already own one.

Whether it is your first time at Soul Discovery or you’re attending regularly, you will be challenged and encouraged by God’s Word. From the moment you walk in the door until the moment you leave, we are committed to delivering a creative, compelling, challenging presentation of the truths of God’s Word.

Our pastor, Reid Sterrett, presents the Gospel in a way that speaks to today’s culture. Using a no-holds-barred communication style, he focuses on how to apply the Bible’s teachings to your everyday life, so we each can experience God’s incredible plan for our lives. The music wraps the weekend message in a relevant way, featuring everything from cutting edge worship to treasured hymns to the latest pop hit.

What We Believe

About the Scriptures
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error.

About God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.

About Mankind
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort alone.

About Salvation
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs only when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

About the Christian Life
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.

About the Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world.
